20/11: Pop Punkin' The Reviews
+44When Your Heart Stops Beating
Interscope/Polydor

4 out of 5 Four Leaf Clovers
A long awaited release from the post Blink 182 era. Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker put together +44 with Shane Gallagher (The Nervous Return) and Craig Fairbaugh (The Mercy Killers, Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards, Transplants and The Forgotten.)
I really expected a lot more out of this album, and was initially disappointed. I was hoping for the album to follow the first song release of "No It Isn't" and follow the bitter-end-snickering-while-you're-standing-over-dead-bodies vibe. This didn't happen, what did happen was a pretty decent supplement to Blink-style pop-rock album. Catchy songs with dancey electric drums (When Your Heart Stops Beating | Lycanthrope,) a few of those bitter ones (Lillian | Weatherman,) some energetic ballads (Baby, Come on | Little Death.)

New Found GloryComing Home
Geffen Records

3 out of 5 Four Leaf Clovers
New Found Glory's Coming Home got on my ipod one day and sat there for a few more. I turned it on not knowing what to expect after their previous "more-mautre" release Catalyst. I was surprised to find a lot less-edgey songs, and a lot more radio-friendly pop songs, and there ain't nothing wrong with that. It's a smooth sounding record with some very improved vocals and lovely hold-your-sweetie tunes.
The only problem for me is that it's missing the pure energy that New Found Glory first caught my attention with. If this band came out with this album as their first I would have never even given it a three and written it off. But it's still refreshing for New Found Glory.

Dashboard Confessional - A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar | All-American Rejects or something, this is hard.
MxPxLet's Rock
Side One Dummy

4.5 out of 5 Four Leaf Clovers
It's true, MxPx slipped out another album without anyone knowing about it. This is just the trend with previous releases such as Panic and Before Everything & After, but wait, WHAT? This one is awesome? I don't believe it and I won't give it a chance, no sir, no way.
I don't blame you for feeling that way. The last two albums made you say, "This band's Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo." But Let's Rock kind of makes you say, "Well shit, maybe they're not done for."
After you realize this is a B-Sides you think, "Oh this makes sense." Apparently, these tracks only date back to 2000 and that is impressive because you feel everything before The Ever Passing Moment mixed into the first 9-tracks. Then they wrap it up with 3-acoustics. Sweet Sweet Thing sounds pretty, but the lyrics are terrible and that added the extra half a 4 leaf clover. I'm a sucker for cringe-worthy pop punk lyrics.

15/11: AntoneHenry.com Video
The fact is, it's really hard to get Windows Media Player or Quicktime to work for everyone. So I went ahead and made my own video player that should work universally now. Here's a sample:
I should be working on getting everything switched over to the new player here soon. This way everyone can enjoy the videos, and I'm motivated to make some more.

Just looking through an old tape. Here ya go:
13/11: I'm Not Gay!
So I was having some good times at my buddy Kelly's tonight. Brought them booze, beat up Kelly for the money she owed me, held BoBo's hands, traumatized Molly by taking one sip of a drink.... All a normal night, right? Well I met a guy tonight. I'll let him remain nameless for his own dignity for what I'm about to do to him. We'll call him a really gay name, like Sergio or something. So I'm just chillin out, testing my boundaries with all my friends there, when this guy introduces himself to me.
"Hey, I think I know you! Yea, you're Antone."
"Yes sir, and who might you be?" (Offer a handshake)
"Dude, I'm Sergio, do you know me?"
"Don't think so Serg."
"Aww shit, last week this guy said the same thing to me. "I know you from somewhere!" and I didn't know who this guy was, so he said "I think God brought us together." and he like touched my shoulder and shit. How fucking gay is that?"
(nervous laughter)
So anyway, I pin Serg as a grade A homophobe, well boy was I right/wrong. The next few hours consisted of him getting drunker, and consistently trying to get me to dance with him. I resisted to the best of my abilities, dancing makes me uncomfortable, throw in a strange homophobic man trying to dance with me, I smell flamer.

07/11: Meeting an Indie-God
Tonight I met with Mike Kinsella (Owen, American Football, Joan of Arc, Cap'n Jazz) after his set opening for Copeland and the Appleseed Cast at the Varsity Theatre. His set was just him and acoustic guitar, which was a little disappointing considering his cd's sound amazing with a band. But the guy is purely amazing at playing his guitar. I'd reccommend you'd check him out. Hell, here's a song:

"She's a Thief" by Owen
So after his set, my buddy Ryan had set up an interview for his TV show, so I got to go meet with Mike and talk to him about music and football. He was a really great guy, and a lot of fun to meet. He's a big celeb in my mind, but really if you're reading this still you know who he is, otherwise you would have written this off after I dropped his name. So listen to the fucking song and hail him as your new god, because god changes with the weather of your life anyway, you unstable fuck.

01/11: I Am NOT a Murderer
There is some man sitting next to me in the quiet computer lab. He is listening to loud R&B music on his headphones, but they are not on his ears. They are on the side of his head and playing loud enough for me to hear at least three seats away.Hold on, gotta take care of something...
Alright, if anyone asks, the blood on my shirt is actually kool-aid I spilled on myself while I was sitting at home watching television this afternoon. It is not blood, I did not put two pens in his nose, rip out his nostrils, and then stab him in both eyes. And the bruises on his neck are from a fall down the stairs.
"you ain't gotta call me your boo, just as bad as you wanna fuck i wanna fuck too."
